  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries Use fresh blueberries, rinsed thoroughly, or frozen without thawing.
  • 4 cups water Use for boiling.
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or sugar Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 piece lemon, sliced Adds zest to the tea.
  • to taste leaves Mint leaves for garnish Optional for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. If using fresh blueberries, rinse them thoroughly. If using frozen, there's no need to thaw them. Gather all your ingredients.
Cooking
  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add the blueberries to the pot. Allow them to simmer for around 5-7 minutes.
  3. After simmering, stir in 1-2 tablespoons of honey or sugar, depending on your preference for sweetness. Allow it to dissolve completely.
  4. Add the sliced lemon to the pot and let it steep for another 3-5 minutes.
  5. Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the tea into a teapot or directly into serving cups, discarding the solids.
Serving
  1. If you desire, add mint leaves for garnish. Serve warm and enjoy the delightful flavors of your Homemade Blueberry Tea!

Notes

Experiment with sweetness using agave syrup or stevia. Consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or fresh ginger for a spice kick. You can chill the tea after brewing to serve it iced.
