Ingredients

Ice Cream Base
  • 2 cups heavy cream Ensure it's fresh for the best texture.
  • 1 cup whole milk Can substitute with low-fat milk for a lighter version.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Use pure vanilla extract for better flavor.
Mix-Ins
  • 1 cup crumbled birthday cake Can use store-bought or homemade cake.
  • 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles Add more for colorful presentation.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Gently fold in the crumbled birthday cake and rainbow sprinkles, being careful not to break up the cake too much.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
Churning and Freezing
  1. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency, typically taking about 20-25 minutes.
  2. Transfer the soft ice cream into an airtight container, tap it on the counter to eliminate air bubbles, and freeze for a minimum of 4 hours or until firm enough to scoop.
  3. Once frozen, scoop into bowls and add your favorite toppings for extra fun.

Notes

For a vegan-friendly version, you can replace dairy ingredients with coconut milk. Remember to store the ice cream in an airtight container to keep it fresh for up to two weeks.
