Ingredients

For the Burger Patties
  • 1 pound ground beef Preferably 80% lean for juiciness
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (Halal)
For Assembly
  • burger buns For serving
  • toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, etc.) Customize as desired

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well with your hands or a fork until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal parts, about 1/4 pound each. Shape each portion into a round patty, about ¾ inch thick, and make a slight indentation in the center.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your grill or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer them more well-done. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (internal temperature should reach at least 160°F).
Assembly
  1. Once cooked, remove the patties from heat and let them rest for a minute. Toast the burger buns on the grill if desired. Layer your toppings, and enjoy!

Notes

For a spicier kick, add paprika or cayenne pepper. Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version, ensuring it remains Halal. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze individually for up to 3 months.
