Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, add ground beef and season it with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef with ricotta cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese. Stir until well blended.
- On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough until it’s about ¼ inch thick.
- Spread the beef and cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Roll the dough tightly from one end to form a log.
- Cut the rolled dough into 2-inch segments and place each roll cut-side up on a lined baking sheet. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let them cool for a few minutes and serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For added nutrition, consider adding chopped bell peppers, spinach, or mushrooms to the filling. If the dough resists rolling, let it rest for a few minutes.
