Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture until combined.
Baking
- Scoop the dough and roll it into balls, placing them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
- Create a small indentation in the center of each cookie using your thumb.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden but the center remains soft.
- Immediately press a Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie while still warm. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the oven at 250°F (120°C) for 5-7 minutes if needed.
