Method
Marinate the Steak
- In a bowl, mix the olive oil, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Add the flank steak and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Cook the Brown Rice
- If you haven't done this already, cook your brown rice according to package instructions. Set it aside.
Cook the Steak
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated flank steak. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired doneness. Make sure to let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it against the grain.
Prepare the Toppings
- While the steak is resting, rinse and drain the black beans, slice the avocado, and shred the lettuce.
Assemble the Bowls
- In your serving bowls, start by layering the cooked brown rice, followed by the sliced steak, black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, and avocado. Top it off with lettuce and a spoonful of salsa.

Notes
