Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions become translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
- In the skillet, stir in the creamy mushroom soup, cooked rice or pasta, and frozen mixed vegetables. Mix everything until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole. Then, add a layer of breadcrumbs for a crunchy finish.
Cooking
- Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown on top.
- Once ready, remove the casserole from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, dig in and enjoy a warm plate of comfort!
Notes
For ingredient substitutions, consider using ground turkey or chicken, and choose your preferred vegetables. Taste as you go to ensure the seasoning is perfect.
