Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) creamy mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or your favorite cheese
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn, etc.)
  • 1 cup cooked rice or pasta
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs for topping
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions become translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
  4. In the skillet, stir in the creamy mushroom soup, cooked rice or pasta, and frozen mixed vegetables. Mix everything until well combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole. Then, add a layer of breadcrumbs for a crunchy finish.
Cooking
  1. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown on top.
  2. Once ready, remove the casserole from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, dig in and enjoy a warm plate of comfort!

Notes

For ingredient substitutions, consider using ground turkey or chicken, and choose your preferred vegetables. Taste as you go to ensure the seasoning is perfect.
