Cooking
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onions, stirring occasionally until fully cooked and onions are translucent.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for another minute, or until fragrant.
- Toss in the chopped cabbage and mix thoroughly. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage begins to wilt.
- Pour in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Stir everything together until well combined.
- Add salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for about 10-15 minutes, allowing flavors to meld and cabbage to become tender.
- Once the cabbage is tender, remove from heat. If adding cheese, sprinkle it on top and cover for a couple of minutes to melt. Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy!
Notes
For a lighter option, swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken. For a vegetarian twist, omit the meat and use vegetable broth. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for added heat and avoid overcooking the cabbage.
