Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional) For topping
  • Fresh parsley For garnish

Method

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onions, stirring occasionally until fully cooked and onions are translucent.
  2. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for another minute, or until fragrant.
  3. Toss in the chopped cabbage and mix thoroughly. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage begins to wilt.
  4. Pour in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Stir everything together until well combined.
  5. Add salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for about 10-15 minutes, allowing flavors to meld and cabbage to become tender.
  6. Once the cabbage is tender, remove from heat. If adding cheese, sprinkle it on top and cover for a couple of minutes to melt. Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy!

Notes

For a lighter option, swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken. For a vegetarian twist, omit the meat and use vegetable broth. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for added heat and avoid overcooking the cabbage.
