Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 pound steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 1 unit bell pepper, cut into squares
  • 1 unit onion, cut into squares
  • 1 unit zucchini, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Skewers (wooden or metal) If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes.

Method

Preparation
  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill.
  2. Cut the steak into 1-inch cubes. Season it with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, allowing the marinade to infuse the meat with flavor.
  3. Chop the bell pepper, onion, and zucchini into bite-sized pieces that will fit nicely on the skewer.
  4. Start threading the meat and veggies onto the skewers, alternating them for a colorful presentation.
  5. Get your grill hot and ready (medium-high heat is ideal).
Cooking
  1. Place the assembled skewers on the grill. Cook for around 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until the steak reaches your preferred level of doneness (medium-rare is about 135°F).
  2. Once cooked, let them rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

For substitutions, you can use halal chicken, lamb, or firm tofu for a vegetarian option. Ensure uniform sizes for even cooking, and pat veggies dry to avoid steaming.
