Preparation
- Soak wooden skewers in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill.
- Cut the steak into 1-inch cubes. Season it with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, allowing the marinade to infuse the meat with flavor.
- Chop the bell pepper, onion, and zucchini into bite-sized pieces that will fit nicely on the skewer.
- Start threading the meat and veggies onto the skewers, alternating them for a colorful presentation.
- Get your grill hot and ready (medium-high heat is ideal).
Cooking
- Place the assembled skewers on the grill. Cook for around 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until the steak reaches your preferred level of doneness (medium-rare is about 135°F).
- Once cooked, let them rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
Notes
For substitutions, you can use halal chicken, lamb, or firm tofu for a vegetarian option. Ensure uniform sizes for even cooking, and pat veggies dry to avoid steaming.
