Ingredients

Shrimp and Marinade
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Skewers
  • 4 Skewers (wooden or metal) If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before grilling.

Method

Preparation
  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water, ensuring they are peeled and deveined.
  2. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Add the shrimp and toss until they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Grilling
  1. Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If using a stovetop grill pan, heat it over medium heat.
  3. Grill the skewers for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn opaque and have grill marks.
  4. Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a minute before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve with a wedge of lemon and your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

For perfect skewers, monitor the shrimp closely, as they cook quickly. You can marinate the shrimp longer for a more pronounced flavor, but avoid over-marinating to prevent excessive saltiness.
