  • 2 fillets salmon fillets Fresh, preferably wild-caught
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can substitute with avocado oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste For seasoning
Shallot Sauce
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped Provides a savory flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Adds tanginess to the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice Brightens the flavor
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Adds color and freshness

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel to achieve crispy skin.
  2. Drizzle olive oil over the fillets and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Carefully flip the fillets and grill for another 4-5 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
Shallot Sauce
  1. While the salmon is grilling, heat a small pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped shallots and sauté until they turn translucent.
  3. Stir in the Dijon mustard and fresh lemon juice, mixing well.
Serving
  1. Transfer the cooked salmon to a plate, spoon the shallot sauce over the top, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcooking the salmon to keep it moist and flaky. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
