Preparation
- Start by peeling and coring the pineapple. Cut it into thick rings or wedges depending on your preference.
- In a bowl, combine the brown sugar with optional cinnamon to create the delicious caramelized crust.
- Heat your grill to medium-high. If using a grill pan on the stove, ensure it's hot as well.
- Lightly brush the pineapple slices with melted butter on both sides, and generously coat them with the brown sugar mixture.
Grilling
- Place the sugar-coated pineapple slices onto the grill. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes on each side until grilled marks appear and the sugar has caramelized.
Serving
- If using lime juice, drizzle a little over the grilled pineapples just before serving.
- Serve the grilled pineapple warm, possibly with a scoop of ice cream or yogurt.
Notes
For an even better flavor, feel free to substitute brown sugar with coconut sugar or mix in some vanilla extract with the butter. Best enjoyed fresh off the grill.
