Ingredients

Meat and Cheese Filling
  • 1 pound ground beef (or halal ground chicken) Choose halal-certified products for the ground meat.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
Wrap Assembly
  • 4 large tortillas
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (or your favorite sauce)

Method

Cooking the Filling
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef (or halal ground chicken). Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned, stirring to break it apart. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Toss in the chopped onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the meat and mix until the cheese melts, creating a gooey filling.
Assembling & Grilling
  1. Lay one tortilla on a clean surface. Spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise across the center. Add a generous scoop of the meat and cheese mixture. Top with shredded lettuce and diced tomato.
  2. Carefully fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it up tightly. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat and place the wrap seam-side down. Grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Slice the Grilled Cheeseburger Wraps in half and serve with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!

Notes

For lighter wraps, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or halal chicken. A vegan cheese option can be used for a dairy-free version. Ensure your skillet is heated before grilling to achieve a crispy exterior.
