Ingredients

For the Meatballs
  • 1 lb ground turkey Use lean ground turkey for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Can substitute with whole wheat breadcrumbs.
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled Adds a tangy flavor.
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley Fresh herbs enhance the taste.
  • 1 large egg Used as a binder.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adjust based on your garlic preference.
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season according to preference.
For the Tzatziki
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Use full-fat for creamier texture.
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, grated and drained Helps to keep tzatziki from being watery.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil Enhances flavor.
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill or mint, chopped Choose based on your preference.
  • to taste Salt Season to your liking.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, feta cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix with your hands or a spoon until everything is well blended.
  2. Using your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1-1.5 inches in diameter. You should have around 12-15 meatballs, depending on size.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches). Cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
Making the Tzatziki
  1. While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the tzatziki. In a separate bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, fresh dill or mint, and salt. Stir until well combined.
Serving
  1. Once the meatballs are ready, serve them hot with a generous scoop of tzatziki on the side. Enjoy with fresh pita bread or a Greek salad for a complete meal!

Notes

For perfect meatballs, avoid overmixing the meatball mixture to prevent toughness and cook in batches to achieve a nice golden crust. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
