Ingredients

For the Steaks
  • 4 pieces beef cube steaks Tender and flavorful
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For coating
  • 1 teaspoon salt To taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper To taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder For flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder For flavor
  • 2 pieces eggs For coating
  • 1/4 cup milk For egg mixture
  • Oil for frying Enough to cover the bottom of the skillet
For the Gravy
  • 2 cups beef broth Rich and flavorful
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Halal-friendly
  • 1/4 cup additional flour For thickening the gravy

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the beef cube steaks dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together.
Cooking the Steaks
  1. Dip each steak into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture to create a crispy layer.
  2. In a large skillet, heat enough oil over medium heat to cover the bottom.
  3. Carefully place the steaks in the hot oil and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Making the Gravy
  1. Remove excess oil from the skillet, leaving about 2 tablespoons.
  2. Sprinkle the additional 1/4 cup of flour into the skillet and cook for a minute, stirring continuously.
  3. Gradually add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, whisking to remove any lumps. Allow to simmer until thickened.
Serving
  1. Serve the fried steaks topped with the rich gravy alongside your favorite sides.
