Preparation
- Rinse the raspberries gently under cool water to clean them. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the raspberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir gently until the mixture begins to bubble, which should take about 5-7 minutes.
- Using a potato masher or a fork, mash the raspberries to help release their juices.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and pour the mixture through a fine strainer into a bowl, pressing down with a spatula to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids left in the strainer.
- Let the coulis cool to room temperature. Then, transfer it to a bottle or jar and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Drizzle the coulis over your favorite dessert or breakfast dish and enjoy!
Notes
Store any leftover coulis in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze it in an ice cube tray for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight or microwave briefly before serving.
