  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Make sure it’s halal.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup Use agave for a vegan option.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground preferred.

  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped Or 1 teaspoon dried.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped Or 1 teaspoon dried.
  • 1 unit juice of 1 lemon
  • to taste salt Add according to preference.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, black pepper, paprika, rosemary, thyme, lemon juice, and salt until well combined.
  2. Select your favorite cut of halal steak—ribeye, sirloin, or flank.
  3. Place the steaks in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s well coated. Seal or cover tightly and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours.
  4. Preheat your grill to a high setting.
  5. Remove the steak from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Grill your steak for 4 to 6 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  6. Allow the steaks to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Substitute fresh herbs with dried ones if needed. Make sure to let steak come to room temperature before grilling for even cooking.
