  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 large egg

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and one egg. Mix until it forms a thick batter.

  5. Gently pour the filling mixture over the crust in the baking pan.
Baking
  1. Place the pan into the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes, until the edges are golden brown while the center remains soft and gooey.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Before serving, dust with powdered sugar for that extra touch of sweetness!

Notes

To ensure your Gooey Butter Cake Bars are perfect: use softened cream cheese to prevent lumps, and keep an eye on baking time to maintain the gooey center. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days or freeze for up to three months.
