Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Unroll the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into rectangles about 3 inches wide.
- In a bowl, mix the berries, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Take a rectangle of puff pastry and place a line of the berry mixture down the center. Fold the pastry over to enclose the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
- Twist the pastry to create a spiral shape and place it on a lined baking sheet.
- Brush the twisted pastries with the beaten egg for a golden sheen.
Baking
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the twists are puffed and golden brown.
Glazing
- While the pastries are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract until smooth.
- Once out of the oven, let the pastries cool slightly before drizzling the sweet glaze over the tops.
Serving
- Allow the pastries to cool a bit more before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
