  • 1 package puff pastry (thawed) Thaw before use.
  • 1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen) Any berry mix preferred.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Adjust sweetness based on berry type.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavor enhancement.
  • 1 large egg (beaten, for egg wash) Provides a golden sheen.
For the glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For glazing the pastries.
  • 2 tablespoons milk Adjust for desired consistency.
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract Enhances the glaze flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Unroll the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into rectangles about 3 inches wide.
  3. In a bowl, mix the berries, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Take a rectangle of puff pastry and place a line of the berry mixture down the center. Fold the pastry over to enclose the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
  5. Twist the pastry to create a spiral shape and place it on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Brush the twisted pastries with the beaten egg for a golden sheen.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the twists are puffed and golden brown.
Glazing
  1. While the pastries are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract until smooth.
  2. Once out of the oven, let the pastries cool slightly before drizzling the sweet glaze over the tops.
Serving
  1. Allow the pastries to cool a bit more before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
