Ingredients

Pasta
  • 9 oz tortellini (fresh or frozen)
Steak
  • 8 oz steak (sirloin or your choice)
Garlic Sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
Garnishes
  • Grated parmesan cheese (for serving)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Method

Prepare the Tortellini
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook as directed on the package. Fresh tortellini typically cooks in about 3-5 minutes, while frozen might take a couple of minutes longer. Once done, drain and set aside.
Cook the Steak
  1. While the tortellini is cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Once the skillet is hot, carefully place the steak in, searing each side for about 3-5 minutes until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the pan and allow it to rest for a few minutes, then slice it thinly.
Create the Garlic Sauce
  1. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until the garlic is fragrant but not burnt.
Combine
  1. Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet, tossing them in the garlic oil to coat. Gently fold in the sliced steak, allowing everything to heat through for another minute or so.
Serve
  1. Plate the Garlic Steak Tortellini and finish with a generous sprinkle of grated parmesan and fresh parsley. Serve warm and enjoy!
