Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for about 5-10 minutes or until foamy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- Once your yeast mixture is ready, add the olive oil to it. Gradually add the flour mixture to the activated yeast, mixing until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- After the rise, punch the dough down and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll it out into a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Cut the dough into strips about 1 inch wide.
- Place the strips onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover with a cloth and let rise for another 10-15 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, and dried parsley.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the glaze generously over the breadsticks, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and enjoy the warm, buttery goodness of your Garlic Breadsticks with Buttery Glaze!
Notes
For perfect results, ensure your dough rises in a warm spot to achieve fluffy texture. Store in an airtight container; lasts in the fridge for up to 3 days or freezer for 2 months. Reheat at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
