Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips For extra gooey goodness

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter until it’s completely liquefied.
  3. Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the melted butter, mixing well until blended.
  4. Beat in the two large eggs and one teaspoon of vanilla extract into the sugar-butter mixture. Mix until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. It’s okay if a few lumps remain—don’t overmix!
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips for that extra gooey goodness.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  2. Allow the brownies to cool for a bit before cutting them into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For a Halal-friendly twist, consider using coconut oil or a vegan butter substitute. Bake just until the edges look set and the center is slightly underbaked for the fudgiest result. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
