Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter until it’s completely liquefied.
- Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the melted butter, mixing well until blended.
- Beat in the two large eggs and one teaspoon of vanilla extract into the sugar-butter mixture. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. It’s okay if a few lumps remain—don’t overmix!
- Fold in the chocolate chips for that extra gooey goodness.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Allow the brownies to cool for a bit before cutting them into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For a Halal-friendly twist, consider using coconut oil or a vegan butter substitute. Bake just until the edges look set and the center is slightly underbaked for the fudgiest result. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
