Ingredients

Fruits
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and halved Use fresh and ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup pineapple, cut into bite-sized chunks Pineapple chunks should be sweet and firm.
  • 1 cup grapes (red, green, or both!) Choose fresh grapes; they can be left whole.
  • 1 cup kiwi, peeled and sliced Ensure the kiwi is ripe but firm.
  • 1 cup melon (like cantaloupe or honeydew), cut into cubes Melon cubes should be ripe and sweet.
  • 10 pieces skewers (wooden or reusable) Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes if grilling.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing all fruits thoroughly. Hull the strawberries, chop the pineapple, slice the kiwi, and cube the melon as mentioned above.
  2. Make sure the pieces are roughly the same size for even threading on the skewers.
Assembly
  1. Take a skewer and begin threading the fruits onto it. Alternate between different fruits to create a colorful pattern.
  2. Aim for 4-5 pieces of fruit per skewer.
Serving
  1. As an optional step, you can drizzle your finished skewers with a splash of honey or a squeeze of lime juice for an extra kick.
  2. Serve them fresh on a platter.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with other fruits like mango, banana, or berries based on your taste. If you're preparing the skewers ahead of time, keep them in the refrigerator until you're ready to serve, as they're best enjoyed chilled.
