  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Additional for dusting.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Additional for dusting.
  • 1/2 cup milk Add more if batter is too thick.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Or substitute with almond extract.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by coring the apples and slicing them into rings about 1/4 inch thick.
Make the Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. Slowly add the milk and vanilla extract, whisking until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
Fry the Apple Rings
  1. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium heat.
  2. Dip each apple ring into the batter, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  3. Carefully place it in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Use a slotted spoon to remove the rings from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
