Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted Melted for mixing
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs Room temperature for better mixing
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted for gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips For added chocolate flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter and granulated sugar, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition.
  5. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  6. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to over-mix.
  8. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  3. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan, then cut into squares and decorate with the football-shaped sprinkles or icing.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze in an airtight container for up to three months.
