Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust for spice preference
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Stir until well mixed and the spices are evenly distributed.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the water and vegetable oil until blended.
  3. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring constantly until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  5. Grab small amounts of dough and roll them into tiny balls, about the size of a marble. Place them onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one to allow for expansion.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they’re golden brown and crispy.
  7. Allow them to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack. Enjoy them warm or store them for later.

Notes

Top Tips: Use whole wheat flour for a nutty flavor. Consider setting up a spice bar for customization before baking. Keep an eye on them in the oven to avoid burning.
