Main Ingredients
  • 3 cups Chex cereal
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup mixed nuts Feel free to swap in your favorite nuts.
  • 1/2 cup popcorn, popped
Flavor Mix
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted Just a light coating is all you need.
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Chex cereal, pretzel sticks, mixed nuts, and popcorn. Stir gently to ensure all components are well incorporated.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, paprika, and a good pinch of salt.
  4. Pour this flavorful mixture over the dry ingredients in the large bowl. Stir gently to coat everything evenly without breaking the cereal too much.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly on a large baking sheet. Bake for about 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes, until it’s golden brown and fragrant.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Store the mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. To refresh the crunchy texture after freezing, spread it on a baking sheet and re-bake it at 250°F (120°C) for about 10-15 minutes until crispy.
