Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the pre-made tart shell in a 9-inch tart pan. If using ricotta cheese, spread it evenly over the bottom of the shell.
- Carefully slice the fresh figs in half and arrange them over the ricotta or directly on the tart shell.
Topping and Baking
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.
- Pour the honey mixture over the figs, ensuring they are generously coated. Optionally, sprinkle fresh thyme on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the figs are lightly caramelized and the tart shell is golden brown.
Serving
- Allow the tart to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Store the tart covered with plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven to maintain the crust's integrity.
