Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan to prevent sticking.
- In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the brown sugar and honey until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gently fold the chopped figs, dates, and walnuts into the wet ingredients.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay!
- Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice and enjoy!
Notes
Store your Fig and Date Nut Bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 2 months by wrapping tightly in plastic wrap followed by aluminum foil. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes when ready to enjoy.
