Method
Cooking the Pasta
- Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook per package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of the pasta water before draining.
Preparing the Sauce
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Pour in the heavy cream and stir until combined. Allow to simmer for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Combining Ingredients
- Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until desired consistency is achieved.
- Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce, gently tossing to combine and coat the pasta evenly. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Serving
- Plate your creamy fettuccine and garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Enjoy your meal!
Notes
Experiment with cheeses like Pecorino Romano or mozzarella for a different twist. Combine pasta with sauce immediately after cooking for best texture. To store, keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat gently with a splash of cream or milk.
