Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Pre-bake the crust for about 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, salt, and cornstarch until well combined.
- Carefully pour the custard mixture into the pre-baked pie crust.
- Gently sprinkle nutmeg on top for added flavor.
Baking
- Place the pie in the oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes, until the center is set but still slightly wobbly.
- Allow the pie to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Keep a close eye on the pie during the last few minutes of baking to prevent overcooking. To store, cover with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate for 3-4 days, or freeze in portions and reheat in the oven at a low temperature.
