  • 8 ounces enoki mushrooms, trimmed and cleaned Fresh enoki mushrooms are recommended.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Avoid browning to prevent bitterness.
  • 2-3 pieces scallions (green onions), chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or low-sodium soy sauce) Adjust based on dietary needs.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust to achieve perfect flavor balance.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the enoki mushrooms gently under cold water to remove any dirt. After rinsing, trim the roots.
Sautéing the Aromatics
  1. In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Cooking the Mushrooms
  1. Gently add the cleaned enoki mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until tender.
Flavor Fusion
  1. Pour the soy sauce over the mushrooms and add the chopped scallions. Stir for another minute until everything is combined.
Final Touches
  1. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, if necessary.
Serving
  1. Transfer the mushrooms to a serving dish and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Can be frozen for about a month; reheating gently is recommended.
