Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Make sure it’s heat-treated or baked to kill any bacteria since we’re eating it raw.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt A perfect balance to the sweetness.
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened This helps achieve that creamy texture.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar The molasses in brown sugar adds depth to the flavor.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk Adjust if the dough is too thick.
Mix-ins
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with your favorite mix-ins!

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the all-purpose flour on a baking sheet and bake for about 5 minutes to heat-treat it. Let it cool before using.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in the heat-treated flour and salt until combined.
  4. Pour in the vanilla extract and milk, mixing until everything is well combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  6. If the dough is too thick, add a little more milk until you reach your desired consistency.
  7. You can either enjoy immediately or chill in the refrigerator for a firmer texture.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes before enjoying.
