Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over the batter, then sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped nuts on top.
Baking
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares.
Notes
For extra flavor, try using a mix of chocolates or add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days, or refrigerate for a week.
