Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 can refried beans Serves as the base layer.
  • 1 cup sour cream Can be substituted with Greek yogurt.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Mix with sour cream for flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (like cheddar or a Mexican blend) Use your favorite type of shredded cheese.
Toppings
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup black olives (sliced)
Serving
  • 1 bag tortilla chips For serving the dip.

Method

Preparation
  1. Spread your can of refried beans on the bottom of a medium-sized serving dish or pie plate.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the sour cream with the taco seasoning until well blended. Spread this mixture over the refried beans.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the sour cream layer.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, followed by the chopped green onions and sliced black olives.
  5. Serve the dip with tortilla chips.

Notes

For a lighter dip, substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt. Allowing the dip to sit for 10 minutes after assembly helps meld the flavors. Avoid overloading with toppings for the best taste and texture. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
