  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and add vanilla extract to the mixture.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until well combined and smooth.
  6. Scoop tablespoons of dough, roll them into balls, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Sprinkle sugar on top of each dough ball for added sweetness.
  8. Bake for about 8-10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For optimal results, use softened butter for easy creaming, and consider chilling the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies. Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week.
