Ingredients

For the filling
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage turkey or chicken for a lighter option
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or mozzarella
Optional seasonings
  • garlic powder to taste
  • onion powder to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until it's browned and fully cooked, about 5 to 7 minutes. Break it up into small pieces as it cooks.
  3. Once the sausage is cooked, remove the skillet from heat. In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, and shredded cheese. Mix until combined and creamy.
  4. Unroll the can of crescent dough and separate the triangles.
  5. Place a generous spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture at the wide end of each triangle. Roll the dough toward the pointed end to form crescents.
  6. Arrange the filled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each one.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
  8. Let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, monitor baking closely to avoid overcooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
