Ingredients
  

For the Topping
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 cup pecan halves Evenly sprinkled over the topping
For the Cake Batter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar For sweetening the cake
  • 1/2 cup milk Room temperature
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour For the cake structure
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder Leavening agent
  • 1/4 tsp salt To enhance flavor
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract For flavoring

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a round cake pan, melt the butter and brown sugar over low heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is well combined.
  3. Remove from heat and sprinkle the pecan halves evenly over the mixture.
Mixing the Batter
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and remaining butter until fluffy.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
Combining Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture alternating with the milk, bening and ending with the flour.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter gently over the pecan mixture in the pan.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Serving
  1. Let the cake cool for a few minutes.
  2. Carefully invert it onto a serving plate.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy every delicious bite!
