Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 each egg
Pecan Topping
  • 1 cup pecans (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
  3. In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, and egg. Beat until well blended.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the chopped pecans, brown sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla extract until they form a paste.
  6. Spread the pecan mixture evenly across the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough atop the pecan layer in the baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown.
  2. Let the sticky buns cool for a few minutes before flipping them onto a serving platter.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, add a pinch of cinnamon to the dough. These sticky buns are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for up to 2 months. To reheat, place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
