Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes using an electric mixer.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined to avoid overmixing.
- Gently fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, cut them into squares and serve.
Notes
For best results, ensure butter is softened. Consider adding a pinch of cinnamon for flavor. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for three months.
