Preparation
- Start by washing and patting the chicken pieces dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, and cornstarch. Toss the chicken pieces in this mixture until evenly coated.
Cooking
- Heat the olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Once hot, add the chicken pieces in a single layer.
- Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. You may need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, and soy sauce.
- Once the chicken is crispy and cooked through, lower the heat and pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet. Stir gently to coat all the chicken evenly, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly for about 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with garlic-marinated tofu. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes to maintain crispiness.
