  • 1 lb ground beef Use beef with some fat for juiciness.
  • 1 cup breadcbs Can substitute with gluten-free.
  • 1 piece egg Helps bind the ingredients.
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped Adds flavor and moisture.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For an aromatic flavor.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Enhances the richness.
  • 1 cup marinara sauce Plus more for topping.
  • 1 tsp dried oregano Classic Italian herb.
  • 1 tsp dried basil Adds aromatic flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp salt For seasoning.
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper For seasoning.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcbs, egg, onion, garlic, Parmesan, marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a lined or greased loaf pan and shape it into a loaf. Alternatively, shape it into a log on a baking sheet.
  4. Pour extra marinara sauce over the top and, if desired, sprinkle with more Parmesan or fresh herbs.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  2. Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to retain moisture.

Notes

Tips: For lower calories, substitute ground turkey or chicken. Add favorite veggies for enhanced flavor. Store leftovers in plastic wrap in the fridge for up to four days or freeze slices for up to three months.
