Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by cutting your chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. Make sure to keep them uniform for even cooking.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water until smooth. This will be your sweet and sticky sauce.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken pieces in a single layer and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium, and pour the prepared sauce over the cooked chicken. Stir to coat the chicken evenly and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  3. Remove from heat and sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

If you want a lighter option, use skinless chicken thighs. Watch the chicken while it cooks to avoid overcooking. Don’t skip the cornstarch, as it thickens the sauce.
