Ingredients

Fresh Ingredients
  • 6 medium ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and chopped Adjust for heat
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • Salt To taste
  • Pepper To taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash your tomatoes and cilantro thoroughly. Dice the tomatoes into small cubes and chop the onions finely.
  2. Remove the seeds from the jalapeño for a milder salsa and chop it finely.
Mixing
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped onions, jalapeño, and minced garlic. Gently mix to combine all the ingredients uniformly.
Seasoning
  1. Squeeze the juice of two limes over the mixture. Add salt and pepper to your liking. Remember, it’s easier to add more later than to correct it if it’s over-seasoned!
  2. Stir in the chopped cilantro.
Chilling
  1. For the best flavor, allow the salsa to chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Serving
  1. Enjoy your salsa with tortilla chips, tacos, or any of your favorite dishes!

Notes

Feel free to swap out tomatoes for mango or pineapple for a sweeter variant. Avoid using overripe tomatoes to maintain desirable texture. Salsa can be stored in the fridge for about 3-5 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
