Method
Preparation
- Wash your tomatoes and cilantro thoroughly. Dice the tomatoes into small cubes and chop the onions finely.
- Remove the seeds from the jalapeño for a milder salsa and chop it finely.
Mixing
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped onions, jalapeño, and minced garlic. Gently mix to combine all the ingredients uniformly.
Seasoning
- Squeeze the juice of two limes over the mixture. Add salt and pepper to your liking. Remember, it’s easier to add more later than to correct it if it’s over-seasoned!
- Stir in the chopped cilantro.
Chilling
- For the best flavor, allow the salsa to chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Serving
- Enjoy your salsa with tortilla chips, tacos, or any of your favorite dishes!
Notes
Feel free to swap out tomatoes for mango or pineapple for a sweeter variant. Avoid using overripe tomatoes to maintain desirable texture. Salsa can be stored in the fridge for about 3-5 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
