Preparation
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and black pepper until fully combined.
- Add the ground beef to the mixture. Use your hands to ensure the beef is evenly coated. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
Cooking
- In a large skillet, heat a teaspoon of oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they become translucent and slightly golden.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the marinated ground beef mixture to the skillet. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Just before taking it off the stove, sprinkle in the chopped green onions and cook for an additional minute.
- Plate the bulgogi over a steaming bowl of rice and enjoy with your favorite toppings.
Notes
For a burst of flavor, serve with steamed bok choy or kimchi. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
