  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Can substitute with coconut oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder Unsweetened cocoa powder recommended
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
Mixing
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until fully combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  3. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

For a richer flavor, let your brownies sit overnight in an airtight container. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze for up to 3 months.
