  • 1 loaf 1 loaf of French bread (about 12 inches long)
  • 1 cup 1 cup marinara sauce or pizza sauce
  • 2 cups 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or a cheese blend of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers (red, green, or both)
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup sliced black or green olives
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup sliced onions
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon dried oregano (optional) Optional seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional) Optional seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional) Use as garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the loaf of French bread in half lengthwise to create two long halves.
  3. Evenly spread the marinara sauce or pizza sauce on each half of the bread.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce.
  5. Add sliced bell peppers, olives, and onions.
  6. Sprinkle dried oregano and garlic powder over the toppings, and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Place the prepared French bread pizzas on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Remove from oven, let cool for a minute, garnish with fresh basil, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Unbaked pizzas can be frozen for up to a month.
