Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour heat-treated for safety
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened must be at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or any preferred mix-ins
  • 2 tablespoons milk (optional) for texture adjustment

Method

Preparation
  1. Ensure your butter is softened to room temperature for easier mixing. If you’re using milk, have that ready as well.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt until well combined.
Creaming Butter and Sugars
  1. In another large bowl, add the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Cream them together with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Add Vanilla
  1. Mix in the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
Combine the Mixtures
  1. Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the sugar and butter blend, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fold in Chocolate Chips
  1. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Adjust Texture
  1. If the dough is too dry, slowly add the milk one tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
Serve
  1. Enjoy immediately or store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

To ensure the flour is safe to eat, heat-treat it in the microwave for about 1 minute. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
