  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk Can substitute almond milk for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted Can substitute with coconut oil for dairy-free option.
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the pie crust
  • 1 pie crust pie crust Store-bought or homemade.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using a store-bought pie crust, place it in a 9-inch pie pan. For homemade, roll it out and fit into the pan.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and milk until well combined.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract, melted butter, flour, and salt until the batter is smooth.
Baking
  1. Carefully pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  2. Bake for 30-40 minutes, until the center is set without a wobble.
  3. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before slicing.
Serving
  1. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of nutmeg or cinnamon. Ensure to cover the pie loosely with foil if the top browns too much. Store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for longer storage.
