Preparation
- Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the bottom of your crockpot.
- Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix evenly over the chicken breasts, and then dollop the cream cheese on top.
- Chop your cooked chicken sausage and add it to the crockpot, spreading it out evenly.
Cooking
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for about 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours. Your chicken should easily shred with a fork when it’s done.
- Once the cooking time is complete, remove the chicken and use two forks to shred it. Mix it back into the sauce until it’s well combined.
- Pile the tender shredded mixture onto your buns, and sprinkle with cheddar cheese and chopped green onions for that extra touch.
Notes
Tip: For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate with the ranch seasoning the night before, then add the cream cheese in the morning before cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat on the stove over low heat with a splash of water to keep it moist.
